Puppy Classes

Welcoming a puppy into your home is a big deal! Puppies are full of energy and lust for life but they do need your help to make them be their best doggo-selves.

At WICD we use the art of cognitive learning, which means we encourage your pups to use their brain to get rewards, rather than luring them with a cookie! Our Science based, positive reinforcement programs are just the thing you need to get your pups started on the right paw.

Puppy 101 (private class)

• All about Dogs
• General Obedience
• Introduction to Husbandry
• Leash Manners
• Brain Games
• Socialization

Recommended for any dog who will need grooming throughout their life

6 x 60 minutes classes include:

• Puppy 101 (see above)
• Introduction to Consentful Care (Grooming)
• Introduction to Vet Care (Cooperative Care)

Adolescent 101 (private class)

• What to expect with an adolescent
• General Obedience with the 3 D’s (Distance, Duration, Distractions)
• Leash Manners cont’d / Meeting other dogs
• Introduction to clicker training

Adolescent Plus (private class)

Recommended for any dog who will need grooming throughout their life.

• Introduction to / Additional exposure to Consentful Care (Grooming)
• Introduction to / Additional exposure to Vet Care (Cooperative Care)

PRIVATE TRAINING

Private training lessons are a great way to work on specific behavior challenges, including topics such as leash manners, counter surfing and accidents in the house for example. Sessions typically take place in the owners home and can sometimes take place in public spaces depending on the challenges your dog is having.

Private sessions are also a great way for pet owners to have a trainer’s undivided attention in order to better grasp training concepts and protocols.

Behavior Modification Training

Looking to iron out some problem behaviors?

Do you have the best doggo except for a few things you’d like to work on?

Behavior Modification is about assessing the reason behind problem behaviors and devising an action plan to modify it. By understanding your dog and the cause of their problem behaviors, you can start to understand why your dog is having a hard time and start to help your dog improve.
